Gladys Loretta Clifton, 96, of Corning, AR passed away on August 8, 2020 at St Bernard’s Medical Center. She was born on February 8, 1924 in Harrisburg, AR. She married Leon Clifton on March 9, 1945. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1994. They moved to the Corning area shortly thereafter and she became a farmer’s wife and the mother of three girls. She loved sewing and making their clothes. She also used her sewing skills and worked at the shoe factory for over ten years. Mrs. Clifton was a regular at the Senior Center in Corning. She enjoyed the visiting and all the games. Before she was a “senior” citizen, she got to travel on a couple of Senior Citizen trips to Washington D.C. and the World’s Fair. At 89, she flew for the first time when her grandson, Todd, and family took her to China. Later, she would get to fly again and go to Seattle and tour the Boeing plant. Gladys had been a “Rosie the Riveter” in Wichita, Kansas during the war.
Geraline Hancock, 92, of McDougal passed away August 9, 2020 at home.
Marvin “Bo” Cobb, 80, of Corning passed away July 28, 2020 in Paragould. Mr. Cobb was a truck driver and enjoyed his job. He loved to shoot guns, fish, hunt and spend time with his family.
Leon Dewayne Hester, 82, of Garland, Tx passed away July 26, 2020 from complications of COPD. He was born September 29, 1937 to parents Carrell and Irene Hester in Datto, Arkansas.
Bonnie Davidson, 88, of Corning passed away July 22, 2020 at General Baptist Nursing Home in Piggott.
