The Corning boys and girls golf teams each took 1st place on Tuesday, August 29 against Piggott and Walnut Ridge teams at the Victory Lake Golf Course. The Corning girls came in first place with a team score of 169.

Bobcats overpower ICC; 58-16 First of all, our team would like to thank the Corning community for the support at the game on Friday at Izard County. Our stands easily had more in attendance than the home side bleachers! Our Senior High team improved to 1-1 with a 58-16 win over ICC.

Last Friday we opened the season against a very good Rector team, losing 20-0. Rector was the state runner up last year and they played a very physical game and did not make mistakes.

Bobcats engage in scrimmage

The Bobcats experienced their first game play in the 8-man format on Friday evening, August 18 as they traveled to Brinkley for a scrimmage game. The scrimmage resulted in a tie, 14-14. The Bobcats will face the Cougars at Rector on Monday night, August 28. The game was moved to Monday due to the high temperature predicted for Friday night. The Jr. Bobcat game will start at 5 p.m. with the Bobcats beginning at 7 p.m.
