with Coach Farrell Shelton Last Thursday our 7th grade team improved to 2-0 with a 12-6 win over Cross County at CHS stadium. Once again, the team showed resilience as they scored in the second half after being tied with Cross County the first half.

Black & Gold scrimmage
The Corning junior and senior high volleyball teams had a Black and Gold Scrimmage on Friday, August 19 at Park Elementary. Head Coach Drew Radcliff and Coach Chris Murray coached the teams while Bucky Hayes officiated the games.
CSD announces gate prices for 2022 – 2023 school year
The Corning School District has announced gates prices for 2022-2023 agreed upon by the 3A-3 Conference. They are $5 for adults and $5 for students/children. Children under the age of 5 years are free.

One week until Bobcat football action
Corning Bobcat fans have eagerly anticipated the beginning of the 2022 football season. The first game for the Bobcats is Friday, August 26 at 7 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium. The Cats face the Portageville, Missouri Bulldogs. The Jr. Bobcats play EPC on Thursday, August 25 with a 6:30 p.m. kickoff at home. 7th grade plays at 5:30 p.m. The annual Pick the Winner game begins this week thanks to game sponsors. The deadline for entry forms for the August 26 game is Tuesday, August 23 at 5 p.m. The winner will receive $50 and will be notified on Monday, August 29. The entry form with game rules can be found on page 8 of this week’s Courier.
BOBCAT SPORTS
The Bobcats and Jr. Bobcats traveled to Gosnell for scrimmages with the Pirates and Paragould Rams on Tuesday, August 16. Each team played the other two teams in two quarters. Gosnell beat the Bobcats 6-0 while the Bobcats defeated Paragould 12-0. The Jr. Bobcats were defeated by the Rams 7-0 and by Pirates 28-0.

Bobcats participate in 2022 NEA Football Media Day
Coach Farrell Shelton introduces three Seniors, Landon Lucas, Tim Hufford and Eli Mason during the Corning Bobcats’ segment of the NEA Football Media Day on Wednesday, July 27. Eli Mason, tight end for the Bobcats, explained that beating Piggott is always good, but the team wants to go far and achieve some play-off wins.
