The Bobcats suffered their first losses of the season on March 11 during their first conference matchups of the season. On Monday, March 11, Corning traveled to Gosnell to play a doubleheader that resulted in two losses that brought the Bobcats to a 3-2 record. The Bobcats battled through some challenging situations in the first five innings holding the Pirates to a score of 5-0. Circumstances shifted in the sixth inning when the Pirates cut loose and defeated the Bobcats by a score of 10-0.

Senior Jayce Couch had quite a basketball season. He has been selected All State for the second year in a row and to the All State Tournament Team.

Corning Boy’s Basketball players Jayce Couch, Luke Blanchard, Roman Davis, and Seth Green have been selected 2023-2024 All-Conference. .

The Bobcats snagged their second win yesterday in a come-from-behind victory against the Trumann Wildcats on Monday, March 4 at home. The Bobcats started out slow, trailing 6-0 going into the bottom of the second inning. The Bobcats battled in the bottom of the second to tie the game up 6-6. The Bobcats scored another in the third and added four more in the fifth inning to finish out their 11 runs. Trumann didn’t go down easy and came up with three more runs in the top of the sixth inning but it wasn’t enough to regain the lead and the Bobcats claimed the win 11-9.

Seniors Presley Martin, Katie Karr, and Kenlie Watson and Jr. Olivia Compton were recently selected as 3A-3 All Conference players for 2024. The Lady Cats had an outstanding season with only two returning starters and accomplished 21 wins, Conference Runner -Up, 1st National Bank Runner-up and a trip to Regionals. The Lady Bobcats were one game away from a trip to State.
The Corning Lady Bobcats defeated Sloan Hendrix in the first of two games on Monday, March 4 at home by a score of 7-4. The triumphant Bobcats jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Presley Martin drew a walk, scoring 1 run. Gracie Townsend singled, scoring 2 runs, and an error scored 3 runs.
Bobcat Baseball started with a season opener against Marmaduke on Friday, March 1st. The Senior High Bobcats took charge at the plate and claimed the 14-4 victory. Junior Reid McMasters led the way going 2-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Cannon Cummings and Rodney Rapert and Cole Kemp contributed doubles to add runs on the board. Kemp went 2-2 with two RBIs and Rapert went 1-3 with two RBIs. Izaiah Hollowell also drove in two runs and Ty Price and Jake VanNada both drove in one run each.

The Corning Bobcats traveled to Manila on Saturday, Feb. 24 to face the Gosnell Pirates in the Regional Consolation game. The Corning Sr. Boys defeated Gosnell; 74 -52. Corning earned 3rd place in the Regional Tournament.
