On Thursday, March 28, the Bobcats traveled to Manila for a double header conference matchup. It was a struggle from the start for Corning pitcher Cannon Cummings as the Lions were hot at the plate from the first inning. Cummings battled hard through 1 and ⅓ innings giving up 7 runs on 5 hits while walking 4 and striking out 3. Ty Price relieved Cummings in the bottom of the 2nd and finished the five-inning game. His strong curve ball shook the Lions up a bit and slowed down the rally. Price gave up 1 hit and 1 run while walking 1 batter and striking out 4 through 2 and ⅔ innings. At the plate for the Bobcats, Reid McMasters, Izaiah Hollowell, Brady Russom, and Seth Smith all contributed a single, with Smith recording the Cats only RBI for the game. The Bobcats were defeated 8-2.

The Lady Bobcats rallied the troops after a loss on Tuesday, March 26 to Gosnell by a score of 24-0. Bats were hot as the Lady Bobcats faced the Piggott Mohawks collecting 13 hits while Piggott tallied 10 in the high-scoring game on Thursday, March 28.

Jayce Couch participated in The Last Dance All Star Basketball Game on Saturday, March 22 hosted by GrindTime Development and SEMO Prep at the Poplar Bluff Middle School in Poplar Bluff at 6 p.m. The game included a 3-Point and Dunk Contest. Couch played under Coach Dontre Jenkins during the All Star Game and scored 15 points for “Team Red.”
The Corning Lady Bobcats Basketball team received the Award of Excellence bestowed on teams that exhibit exemplary conduct, which includes sportsmanship, ethics and integrity during a season. The award was presented to Corning High School for an ejection-free season of Girls Basketball 2023-2024.
The Corning Jr. Bobcats squared off with the Rivercrest Colts on Tuesday, March 26 at home. The Colts made the first score on the board in the 1st inning. Corning also scored at their first at bat in the bottom of the 1st inning.

The Bobcats lost to the Rivercrest Colts in a makeup game on Tuesday, March 26 at home. The game scheduled for Monday was pushed to the next day due to weather.

The bats were hot in Harrisburg on Thursday, March 14 as the Lady Cats faced the Hornets. Corning out hit Harrisburg 12 to 9, but they couldn’t quite get the win against the Lady Hornets. Kylie Zimmer and Presley Martin each collected 3 hits for the Lady Cats.

Lady Bobcat Softball Coach Jerry Songer won his 200th career softball win while coaching at Corning on Tuesday, March 5 when the Lady Bobcats claimed victory over Maynard by a score of 7-4 in the first game of a doubleheader.
