Winter sports season is wildly popular. Sports such as basketball, hockey, swimming, and track and field attract talented student-athletes each winter, making the season one of the most fun times of year for kids, their families and their classmates.
The Corning Junior Boys basketball team battled hard but came up short in a close game against Salem, falling 34-31 in the Hillcrest Junior High Tournament on Thursday.

The Jr. Bobcats basketball team closed out the first half of the season with an impressive 8-3 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in conference play. Facing tough competition, the team has shown consistent improvement while displaying energy, teamwork and a strong desire to succeed.
The Jr. Lady Bobcats team closed out the first half of their season with a hardfought 36-33 victory over BIC, improving their record to 7-4 overall and 5-1 in conference play. Despite a setback the night before against EPC in a 36-24 loss, the team continues to show significant improvement as the season progresses.
