It takes many types of people and effective organizations to ensure a city runs smoothly, is prepared for the best economic opportunities and has potential for growth. It takes all citizens to create a city or town that they love, a town in which they can be proud.
Celebrating 150 Years of the City of Corning & Clay County in 2023 The above group of children who are enrolled in Guthrie’s Morning Kindergarten for 1973-74 made a visit to The Courier on the first day of school, Monday. The group includes: Deanna Kay Johnson, Jimmy Duane Leach, Andrea Suzanne Smith, James Wayne Curtis, Dana Lynne Black, Aubrey Glen Williams, Helene Michelle VanDerGrif, Sheridan Keith Rouse, Dwight Lee Johns.

The weather was ideal, with the rain holding off until about 11:00 p.m.

Celebrating 150 Years of the City of Corning & Clay County in 2023 By 1913 the Tin Lizzie had begun to multiply on the streets of Corning and the roads of West Clay and an increased interest in good roads was at hand. The county purchased this new style road grader.
Growing up in a small town is an extraordinary experience. Where else can residents be upset that people know all their business, but are tickled to death when friends and neighbors come to their aid after they have posted their plight on social media for all to read.
