Celebrating 150 Years of the City of Corning & Clay County in 2023 The above group of children who are enrolled in Guthrie’s Morning Kindergarten for 1973-74 made a visit to The Courier on the first day of school, Monday. The group includes: Deanna Kay Johnson, Jimmy Duane Leach, Andrea Suzanne Smith, James Wayne Curtis, Dana Lynne Black, Aubrey Glen Williams, Helene Michelle VanDerGrif, Sheridan Keith Rouse, Dwight Lee Johns.

We are currently in the year 1989 Well, we’ve done it again! We had a great 4th of July Celebration, thanks to the support of local residents, former residents, and the weatherman! The weather was ideal, with the rain holding off until about 11:00 p.m.

Celebrating 150 Years of the City of Corning & Clay County in 2023 By 1913 the Tin Lizzie had begun to multiply on the streets of Corning and the roads of West Clay and an increased interest in good roads was at hand. The county purchased this new style road grader.
