From LITTLE ROCK – The state Attorney General has sued two pharmacy benefit managers, alleging that they contributed to the dramatic rise in the abuse of painkillers that has ravaged Arkansas. Pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) are companies that act as the middleman in transactions between wholesale manufacturers and the people who pay for prescription drugs, such as drug store chains, health insurance companies and government health care agencies.

Republicans cut taxes for wealthy Arkansans Let’s remember why we’re here: Back on Thursday, May 9, the last day of the 2024 Fiscal Session, a small group of House Republicans blocked passage of the appropriation for the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission. The point of contention: an increase in the appropriation for the director’s salary from about $150,000 to about $190,000.

Dear Ms. Lowe, I would like to thank you for your outstanding piece, “The Decline of Integrity.” I happened to read it just now and was pleasantly surprised to see your very well-written long form op-ed in my local small town newspaper. I agree with your perspective wholeheartedly--as a sociologist I am concerned the extremely individualistic culture of the United States is feeding the epidemic of narcissism in which we now find ourselves. But in any case, I applaud your courage to write in an effort to promote ethics and integrity in a culture in which appears to be suffering from a lack thereof.
