State Capitol Week in Review

The Arkansas Agriculture Department has completed a series of public hearings on updates to the statewide water plan, which hasn’t been modified in 10 years. For the first time, the water plan developed this year will include ways to prepare for floods and to mitigate as much damage as possible caused by flooding.

The Great Elvis Presley made a hit out of this way back there in our past. Isn’t it interesting that he has been gone from the earth now longer than he was upon it? I was busy with a project this morning that required mixing some two-part resin epoxy for some art I am creating, and silently cursing my eyes that struggle to see the details, eyes that once could spot a squirrel in the tallest “scaly bark” hickory tree along Ring Slough and generally take him out with one shot.
