Corning High School students select ASU-Newport to further education
Students from Corning Public Schools made an impressive showing in the 2025 Arkansas State Duck Stamp Contest, earning top honors and notable recognition at both state and national levels.

Torrential rains from April 4 through 6 sent floodwaters surging across Clay County, submerging roads, stranding vehicles and forcing closures throughout the region. But thanks to the coordinated response of city and county officials, as well as emergency crews, what could have been a disaster was met with preparation, calm and strength.

Members of the Bobcat Country 4-H Club spent an afternoon planting a variety of crops in the local community garden, capping off weeks of preparation and learning that began in early March.
The Corning Community will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 12 at the Victory Lake Sports Complex. The event will be open to the public with fun activities for children that include an egg hunt, pictures with the Easter Bunny, games, face painting, free food and giveaways. The Clay County Quorum Court met in regular session on Monday, March 17 at the courthouse in Piggott with Justices Dennis Haines, Patrick Patterson, David Hatcher, Jody Henderson and David Cagle present. Justices George Lowe, Randy Kingston and Brad Green were absent.
