The Corning Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 2024 Chamber Christmas Banquet on Tuesday, December 10, at the M.B. Ainley, Jr. Community Center. Tickets are $25 each. The event will feature a âBlack and Gold Christmasâ table decorating contest, door prizes, and Bingo gifts. Participants can decorate tables after 11:00 a.m., with judging completed by 4:30 p.m.
A routine traffic stop on West Main Street led to the arrest of a Corning man on drug and firearm charges.
A Corning man has been arrested on a felony charge for failing to comply with se offender registration requirements.

The Clay County Quorum Court met in regular session on Monday, Nov. 18 at the courthouse in Piggott with justices Dennis Haines, Patrick Patterson, David Hatcher, Neal Smith, Jody Henderson, David Cagle and Randy Kingston in attendance.

On October 21st, the Clay County 4-H Youth Leadership Citizenship Team participants from Corning, Piggott and Rector High Schools toured the State Capitol in Little Rock joined by Arkansas State Representative Jeremy Wooldridge. Then, at the 4-H Center in Ferndale, they attended a Real Colors personality session to understand themselves and others with Carrie Stark while discussing their service-learning project with Clay County Extension agent Christin Holmes.
