Collision leads to drug arrest

On June 24, 2024, at approximately 7:20 A.M. the Clay County Sheriff’s Department responded to a head-on collision just north of Greenway on Hwy. 49. When the Sheriff’s Department arrived, the deputy came in contact with both drivers. One driver was still in his vehicle and seemed disoriented and confused. After the ambulance arrived both drivers refused medical treatment. The deputy had concerns about the impairment of the driver who had remained in his vehicle when he had arrived on the scene of the accident. The deputy conducted a search of his vehicle and placed the driver under arrest. 69-year-old Charles Robinson Camp of Piggott was transported to the Clay County Detention Center on the following charges: Possession Of Meth or Cocaine LT 2GM, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, DWI-Drugs (Unlawful Act), Driving Left of Center.

Government???

A big fearsome word. By definition, one from the Oxford dictionary states, “The action or manner of controlling or regulating a nation, organization or people.” It does not have to mean a monster out to destroy. It does not have to bring fear to a nation or to its neighbors, whether near or afar. It doesn’t have to be conservative to be affective. It does not have to be liberal to everyone and answer every heart’s desire. It does have to be fair or to progress, it needs to be balanced. It doesn’t have to have transparency in all things, as the general public mostly have no need to be familiar with the details of national security. Many of the more liberal claim that our government spends too much of our funding on military needs. The military must be funded. We must have the top military level on the planet, we need to be ready for any aggression shown to us. Some of the more liberal believers say we need to ‘give peace a chance’. That never means you have to let down your guard. One of the greatest of the martial arts is the Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, yet it is truly designed to be defensive, and that is the way our country should view its security - to be ever vigilant, well trained, and ready to repel any assailant. We should be regulated to be hard-working and thrifty people, but we should be careful to take care of our old, our ill, our weak, and our innocents, who have not grown to maturity to take care of themselves. Our leaders should never be allowed to be bullies, for bullies have no regard for those about them. Our leaders should be educated, but more than educated, they need to be intelligent. They have need of skills in diplomacy, in problem solving, in compromise. Most of all our leaders need to take on the mantle of the servant, as that is what they are, and their citizens and their welfare should be their focus. To govern well is to allow growth and development expediently but not recklessly. To govern well is to allow the correct amount
