Corning shows up for G&H Decoys job fair
Corning’s new manufacturing company, G&H Decoys is setting up for business at the former Walmart location. “We’re still getting set up, getting things organized and put away, but we have nine brand new employees this week,” said general manager Brent Sawyer.
Chamber firms up upcoming events
Some topics discussed at the Oct. Chamber luncheon were the successful job fair held by G&H Decoys, the need for contestants for the Chamber’s Chili Cook-Off during the Harvest Festival, the Boo Bash, and the Chili Supper Fund Raiser hosted by Growing Corning Together to support the Corning Senior Wellness Center.
Clay County makes two drug arrests
On Monday September 30, 2024, at approximately 8:45 P.M., the Clay County Sheriff’s Department made a traffic stop on Lee Street in Corning. When the deputy came in contact with the driver and passenger, he learned the passenger was on felony probation.

Gala Blanchard won the weekly Pick the Winner Contest for the third time this season. Blanchard correctly selected 13 out of 15 games in the Week 7 contest.
Clay County represented in Miss Arkansas State Fair Pageant
Haylee Parrish, Miss Clay County and Briana Johnson, Jr. Miss Clay County, participated in the 2024 Miss Arkansas State Fair Pageants and Talent Showdown at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock.
