HPMEC to host photo exhibit

The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center will be hosting the photographic exhibit entitled The Veneto of Ernest Hemingway: Across the River into the Trees series seven. The exhibit is comprised of a series of beautiful black and white panels. The exhibit will be on display through December on the second floor of the museum. The holiday glow of Thanksgiving is starting to dim, but my fridge is still shining with its own turkey and gravy fueled brilliance. I’m talking about the mountain of actual Tupperware containers stacked inside like Tetris-none of those margarine tubs pretending to be airtight over here. The sight is both comforting and slightly overwhelming, like I’m hosting a food hoarder’s convention in my kitchen.

For those who know me and the special bond I share with my daughter, you know how much we love attending live theater productions. Over the years, we’ve seen everything from The Lion King to Hamilton. But Wicked? That’s been on our wish list for a long time. And while there’s a big difference between a live production and a film, the story and songs remain the same.

ArDot will hold a public involvement meeting on Dec. 5

ArDot will conduct a public involvement meeting to gather input on the proposed design of the 4.9 mile new location highway that extends north from Highway 67 north of Corning and terminates at the Missouri state line in Clay County. The date is set for Thursday, Dec. 5 with a drop-in time of 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the M.B. Ainley Community Center located at 538 E. Elm Street in Corning.
