Russia-Ukraine conflict will likely mean hardship, opportunity for agricultural producers

By Ryan McGeeney U of A System Division of Agriculture LITTLE ROCK — The Russian invasion of Ukraine is causing “gut-wrenching” volatility in grain markets and pushing already high prices for fertilizer and diesel even higher, economists with the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture said this week. Much of the world, including the United States, is imposing economic sanctions against Russia, including a halt of exports to Russia and the freezing of Russian assets in banks around the world.

Kindergarten Registration at Corning Park Elementary

Kindergarten Registration at Corning Park Elementary is scheduled for Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM then 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM and on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. A child must be 5-years-old on or before August 1st of the current school year in order to enroll. Parent or legal guardian must be present in order to register a student. The following documents are required for registration: a current immunization official document, birth certificate, social security card, and a physical examination (within the last 2 years of the first day of school which is August 22). Please bring these documents when registering.

Arkansas Women in Agriculture Conference To Be Held March 15 & 16 in Little Rock

Chamber welcomes new business

Corning is the new home of 1st Choice Home Care, a private care agency devoted to providing in-home care services for Seniors and disabled individuals throughout Northeast Arkansas, ranging in age from infants to the elderly. The business also has locations in Paragould, Jonesboro, Manila, Truman, and Newport. Its Corning location is on Main Street across from Legacy Equipment. They will soon open a seventh location in Mountain Home.
