The Corning School Board met in a special called meeting on Monday, Feb. 24 at 5:00. All members were present. The board approved the Proposed Budget of Expenditures with Tax Levy for Fiscal Year Beginning July 1, 2026 to and including June 30, 2027 and to approve Sample Ballot for the May election. In other business, the board approved a student legal transfer to Oak Grove. There being no further business, President Scobey adjourned the meeting.
Williams Baptist University has released the names of students on the President’s and Dean’s Lists for the 2024 fall semester. The President’s List includes those full-time students who achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average, while the Dean’s List consists of those with at least a 3.5 GPA. WBU is a private, Christian university in Walnut Ridge, Ark.
