The Mississippi Mudcatters hit Old Man River for a successful haul in the first fishing excursion of the 2022 season on Thursday, April 28. The fishing team caught 15 fish totaling 285 pounds. Eight-year-old Annalee Shourd recently starred in the first production from the newly formed Studio 67 Theater Company in Pocahontas. The young actress performed in the role of Sarabi, Simba’s mom and several ensemble parts in Lion King Jr. The inaugural play ran April 21-23 at the St. Paul Catholic School gymnasium. She is the daughter of Chris and Danielle Shourd of Corning.
The Clay County Election Commissioners will conduct the Logic and Accuracy Testing and will also have Public Testing on Saturday, April 30, at the Corning Election Warehouse at 10:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend. Joe Steinberg, wife and five sons, and Mrs. Steinberg’s sister, Miss Hammerschlach of Europe, arrived Wednesday from Poplar Bluff with their household goods and now occupy Frank Harris’ residence property, lately vacated by J.N. Martin and family on the Northeast corner of Third and Vine streets. Mr. Steinberg also has a carload of dry goods and store fixtures, which he moved from his recent place of business in Poplar Bluff.

The RV will be staffed by a highly trained care team which includes a medical provider specializing in family medicine. The ADA accessible mobile clinic will be run by appointments but can take walk-ins as time allows.
