Working together to solve cell phone issues
The misuse of cell phones, specifically through the use of social media apps, is getting out of hand. Most of our school discipline issues occur because of students’ social media activities and posts.

Hello Clay County Courier readers! This is the first installment of a monthly column I will to be doing about the Arkansas Welcome Center at Corning. I have been the manager up here for a year as of this month, so I have slowly become well versed in all things Arkansas Tourism! In case you are unaware of what the Welcome Centers are, or you haven’t visited one before here is a brief synopsis: The Arkansas Welcome Centers are operated by the Division of Tourism in the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism. There are fourteen Welcome Centers throughout the state located in Bentonville/ Bella Vista, Blytheville, Corning, El Dorado, Harrison, Helena- West Helena, Lake Village, Little Rock, Mammoth Spring State Park, Red River, Siloam Springs, Texarkana, Van Buren/ Fort Smith, and West Memphis. The Arkansas Welcome Center in Corning is the second oldest Welcome Center in Arkansas. The first building opened August 19, 1968. This building was replaced with a new facility on February 14, 2006. As of February 14, 2022, the center is sixteen years old. Arkansas Welcome centers contain a tourist information center which are staffed by Travel Consultants who help answer tourists’ questions and help them in their search for activities in Arkansas. Located inside are informational brochures which are organized by the section of the state: Northwest, Southwest, North Central, Central, Upper Delta, and Lower Delta. Free Westrock Coffee is also provided with 24-hour access bathrooms (Welcome Center hours are 9:00-5:00).
Learning disabilities affect millions of people across the globe each year. Though learning disabilities are often discussed in ways that highlight how they affect students’ performance in the classroom, the International Dyslexia Association notes that the effects of a learning disability like dyslexia can reach well beyond the classroom.
