The Arkansas Department of Human Services is ready to “unwind” Medicaid coverage for thousands of Arkansans who gained access to the health insurance program when the federal government declared a public health emergency in 2020, officials said Friday. The public health emergency (PHE) declared at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic will likely end in January, with an announcement expected in the next week, DHS officials said during a media briefing.

The Rapert-Poyner VFW Post#8347isholdingtheir annual Christmas Toy Drive for needy children in the community. For the past six years the veterans have collected toys, wrapped and delivered them to families needing assistance with Christmas gifts for children.
The Corning Beautification Committee has selected Corning High School’s Art II and Art III classes as the November Artists of the Month. Their artwork will be on display all month at the M.B. Ainley, Jr. Community Center for the public to enjoy.
CHS is hosting a Veteran Day Program on Friday, Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. at the high school auditorium. Veterans report to the library. The VFW is having a ceremony at the courthouse at the Veteran Memorial at 11 a.m.The public is invited to both events.
