Cooperative Extension Service agents provide professional development training for thousands of Arkansas childcare professionals

LITTLE ROCK — In Arkansas, childcare providers are required to complete a minimum of 15 hours of professional development annually. Family and Consumer Sciences Agents with the Cooperative Extension Service, part of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture, helped meet this need by conducting professional development training online and in person for thousands of childcare providers in 2022.

Piggott Chamber E Waste Drive

The Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Northeast Arkansas Regional Landfill, is holding an E-waste collection beginning Wednesday, Jan. 18. The collection is planned to assist residents in the disposal of electronic waste, and other such items, and there is no charge to county residents.

That you’ve never heard of these singers must not keep you away from the event because these gospel singers have credentials you’ll appreciate. By the way, you’ve heard them sing and when that first phrase of melody caresses your ears, you’ll remember, but you probably don’t remember their names.

Bring consommé to a boil; add rice. Cover and cook over low heat for about 25 minutes or until liquid is absorbed, Sauté green pepper, onion, mushrooms and pepperoni in oil in a saucepan. Add tomatoes and salt; simmer, uncovered for 20 minutes. stir rice into tomato mixture, Place half the mixture in a 6 1/2 by 2-inch baking dish. Sprinkle half the cheese. Repeat layers. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 20 minutes until bubbly. Yield: 4-6 servings.
