Clay County Quorum Court met in regular session on Monday, July 21 at the Piggott courthouse with Justices Dennis Haines, Patrick Patterson, David Hatcher, Brad Green, Randy Kingston and Jody Henderson present. Justices David Cagle, George Lowe and Neal Smith were absent.
First Free Will Baptist Church on the corner of Fourth and Hazel Streets has been serving the community for the last 70 years. The church was organized on July 24, 1955 by Rev. Grady Linebaugh with eleven charter members. Today the church is pastored by Rev. Ryan Curtis. When asked what it means that his church has been open in Corning for 70 years, Bro. Ryan says, “I think it confirms the goodness and grace of God. The church has had many ups and downs in 70 years, but He has sustained it and kept it alive in order to continue serving His Kingdom. We trust that He will continue to do so!”
