On October 6th, 2023, at approximately 1:54 a.m., a Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a Gold Chevrolet Suburban for defective equipment in Corning. The vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed and would not pullover. The deputy then notified dispatch he was in pursuit. The vehicle left Corning on County Road 143 Northbound. The vehicle went to Hwy 328 and turned left, then turned South on County Road 139. They stayed on 139 until they came to US 67 where the driver turned West on US 67. At this point, the Corning Police Department joined the pursuit. The vehicle speed at times exceeded 100 MPH. The vehicle left US 67 when it came to HWY 211, it traveled on HWY 211 until it turned on County Road 108. At this point the Corning Unit tried to pit the vehicle. The vehicle temporally lost control, but regained it, and in result, was facing the way it had just come. The vehicle then accelerated and headed toward a deputy’s truck, hitting it head on. The vehicle then tried to back up hitting a Corning Unit that was trying to block it in. The Corning Unit pushed the vehicle back into the deputy’s truck, pinning it in. As officers exited their units and approached the vehicle, they realized there were two small children in the back seat. Officers immediately removed the children and the driver of the vehicle. At this point a passenger in the vehicle jumped into the driver’s seat, put the vehicle in reverse and tried to escape. The vehicle could not get out going in reverse, so they tried going forward hitting the deputy’s truck again, forcing the deputy to climb on top of his vehicle to keep from getting hit. The officer removed the individual and put the vehicle into park. The deputy then conducted a search of the vehicle where he found over 28 grams of what field tested for methamphetamine. He also found marijuana and a prescription drug, Clonazepam. The original driver of the vehicle was 27-yearold Alissa Sue Morrow- Moore of Pocahontas. The passe
