Teach Arkansas Initiative Addresses Teacher Shortage With Tools to Guide Arkansans to the Classroom

LITTLE ROCK — Many Arkansas schools are facing severe teacher shortages that impact their ability to provide a high-quality education to every student. To encourage more Arkansans to enter the teaching profession and highlight various pathways and financial incentives to become a teacher, the Arkansas Department of Education’s Division of Elementary and Secondary Education and Forward Arkansas, a statewide education nonprofit, have rebranded and launched the Teach Arkansas campaign.

Girl Scouts selling cookies

Members of Girl Scout Troop #3012 sold Girl Scout cookies on the Dollar General parking lot on Feb. 28 after school. The troop also sold cookies on the 10Box parking lot on Feb. 27. The girls will be selling cookies for two more weeks. Contact a girl scout or Megan Owens to purchase cookies.

What is the meaning of kindness? It means different things to different people, but most can agree that the true meaning of kindness is found in how someone demonstrates kindness. Kindness is shown through actions. It comes in various forms which can be through kind gestures, words, acceptance, or empathy. Kindness is more than being nice; it is love and it is grace. Kindness is doing nice things for people without expecting anything in return. Being kind often requires courage and strength.

VA to Host Virtual Town Hall Meeting for Women Veterans

Poplar Bluff, Mo. — John J.
