Spring festival celebrates Corning landmark

Growing Corning Together is hosting its annual spring festival celebrating Corning’s beloved landmark, Hop Alley on Saturday, May 21 from 9 AM – 6 PM. Why celebrate? Hop Alley is an important part of the history of Corning and dates back to when it was a busy shortcut from Second to First street when people used to come to town on Saturday to shop and visit with friends and neighbors walking downtown.

One of the best ways for students to develop communication skills, build confidence, as well as learn and retain content is through thoughtful class discussion. From simple turn-and-talk to Socratic Circles, there are many great discussion formats you can use in the classroom to get students to share ideas and learn from each other.
