Rainwater family enjoys reunion

The Rainwater Reunion was held on Saturday, April 16 at the Peach Orchard Community Center. The family hid 65 candy and money filled eggs. The meal included Italian beef, ham, mashed potatoes, cheesy potatoes, slaw, Watergate salad, rolls, broccoli, lime beans, green beans, duck dressing, bacon wrapped duck breasts, squash casserole, cherry cake, and cherry delight. There were 25 people in attendance.

Gifted and Talented Program seeks referrals for students

The Corning School District Gifted and Talented Program is currently seeking referrals for students in grades 3-11. Referred students must display high intellectual ability, task commitment, self-motivation and creative ability. Afterschool & Summer Learning Program Grants

Arkansas State University and its sponsored initiative, the Arkansas Out of School Network (AOSN), are pleased to announce two grant opportunities to provide after school and summer learning programs that address student social emotional development and learning loss as a result of COVID-19. The Arkansas Department of Education’s Division of Elementary and Secondary Education selected ASU and the AOSN in 2021 to administer the grants totaling $25 million over three years.

Extension offers farmer-led watershed management training

LITTLE ROCK — When it comes to protecting the state’s waterways, Arkansas farmers are uniquely qualified to lead efforts in water quality management. The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture is offering a new leadership training program for farmers, farm advisors and crop consultants to learn more about how they can lead stewardship efforts.

Hello everyone. The second paving project has started here in Peach Orchard. Soon we will have all the streets in town paved. The railroad company has finished up the work on the railway they just need to pick up the old ties and trash now.
