POCAHONTAS, AR April 29—BRTC will hold its Registered Nursing graduation and pinning ceremony in the Randolph County Development Center on May 10 at 6:30 p.m. The celebration is open to the public.
The Rainwater Reunion was held on Saturday, April 16 at the Peach Orchard Community Center. The family hid 65 candy and money filled eggs. The meal included Italian beef, ham, mashed potatoes, cheesy potatoes, slaw, Watergate salad, rolls, broccoli, lime beans, green beans, duck dressing, bacon wrapped duck breasts, squash casserole, cherry cake, and cherry delight. There were 25 people in attendance.
The Corning School District Gifted and Talented Program is currently seeking referrals for students in grades 3-11. Referred students must display high intellectual ability, task commitment, self-motivation and creative ability. Arkansas State University and its sponsored initiative, the Arkansas Out of School Network (AOSN), are pleased to announce two grant opportunities to provide after school and summer learning programs that address student social emotional development and learning loss as a result of COVID-19. The Arkansas Department of Education’s Division of Elementary and Secondary Education selected ASU and the AOSN in 2021 to administer the grants totaling $25 million over three years.
It would be an understatement to say that it has been an interesting few years for the Class of 2022. Due to the pandemic, many soon-to-be grads spent a significant portion of their school years adapting to a changing landscape, both at school and at home. While it is an accomplishment to reach graduation in a “normal” situation, students who have succeeded and thrived in the face of pandemic-related adversity are worthy of extra celebration.

Hello everyone. The second paving project has started here in Peach Orchard. Soon we will have all the streets in town paved. The railroad company has finished up the work on the railway they just need to pick up the old ties and trash now.
