Barajas earns M.Ed

In a graduation ceremony at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 6, Becca Barajas of Corning graduated with a Master of Education in Instructional Technology Library Media Specialist at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. Barajas currently teaches Biology at Corning High School. She and her husband, Trevor are the parents of two boys, Harrison and Hatcher.

Greyson Michael Cook was born May 3, 2022 to parents, Steffani and Nathan Cook of Corning. He weighed 6 lbs., 8 oz. and 19-1/2 inches long. Greyson’s maternal grandparents are RayeLynn and Michael Luce of Corning and Mark Hampton of Malden, MO. Paternal grandparents are Ricki Crismon and Kelly Moss of Hillsboro, MO. and Dennis Cook of Biggers.

Goodman wins Outstanding Research Award

TUSCALOOSA, AL - Caroline Goodman of Corning is a 2022 recipient of the prestigious Randall Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award from The University of Alabama. Goodman, a Biology major, received the award for a research project titled “Identification of potential neuroprotective compounds using cellular membrane affinity chromatography with immobilized tyrosine kinase receptors B.” Award recipients are nominated and selected by University faculty and staff research directors.

Johnson receives pin in DPT ceremony

Cara Johnson, daughter of Blake and Tricia Johnson of Corning, was among members of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Class of 2024 at the Arkansas State University College of Nursing and Health Professions to be pinned during the Clinical Pinning Ceremony. The ceremony was held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium in the Reng Student Union. Students in the class will enter the field this summer.

Liles celebrates 85 Years Loved

They say the measure of one’s life is how well they love and are loved. If so, Lucille Liles’ cup runneth over. “85 Years Loved” was the theme of the birthday celebration held for her as she was surrounded by family and friends. Her family held the celebration on her birthday, Sunday, April 24 at her home church, the First General Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Corning where she is a charter member.
