The Corning Public Library is restarting their “Itty Bitty Story Time” for all preschool age children. The next story time will be November 2nd at 10 a.m.
We will be having our annual class reunion on Saturday, October 22nd. The meeting will be located at the Red Dragon restaurant located on Hwy. 62-67 West. The restaurant is right across from the Parkview Restaurant and The Living Word Church located on the west side of the restaurant. We will be starting at 6 PM. The restaurant has a buffet to choose your food items. Anyone is welcome that went with our class any of the 12 years from 1948 to 1960 or if you want to bring a friend to 1960 or if you want to bring a family member with you, please do so. The Clay County Courier welcomes news of weddings, engagements, bridal showers, cradle showers, birthday parties, family reunions, birth announcements, vacation and trip news, church outings and club meetings; etc. for use on the Society page. There is no charge for publishing such articles, and pictures are welcome. An easy option to submit Society news is to email news and photos to Pam Lowe at pamlowe@claycountycourier. com. Readers may also bring news into the Courier office to submit articles and photos.
Every year the Corning Lions Club gives away $10,000 with proceeds from their annual raffle ticket sales. Their fundraising effort goes to sight conservation. Only 200 tickets, each a $100 donation, will be sold to be given away Saturday, October 22, 2022. Participants do not have to be present to win. Tickets are available from Lions members or at Red Taylor Ford.

Ellie Rose Johnson, daughter of Chad and Kaitlyn Johnson turned one-year-old on October 7, 2022. Ellie’s close circle of immediate family, grandparents, greatgrandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends celebrated with a party on October 8th at the Corning community center.

The Corning Beautification Committee has announced CHS 7th grade art students that received ribbons at the Clay County Fair and the NEA District Fair as the October Artists of the Month. These talented artists will have their artwork on display during October at the M.B. Ainley, Jr. Community Center.
