Lance Hewett graduated from the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law during the commencement ceremony held on May 11, 2024. His post-graduate plans are to join the Law Offices of Katherine E. Blackmon. His area of practice is Family Law.

Joslin Ward, a 2024 graduate of Rector High School, is the recipient of the 2024 Hannah Blankenship Memorial Scholarship. Ward was presented the award prior to the Honors Day presentations for Rector High School on May 17 at 9 a.m. by the Blankenship family.

It was a stormy Memorial Day weekend for much of northern Arkansas with severe weather impacting the area throughout the weekend and at least 7 tornado related fatalities in the state. The town of Rogers took the brunt from a tornado devastating the town.

The city of Corning endured a couple rounds of strong storms with tornado sirens sounding twice over the Memorial Day weekend. An early morning storm on Sunday, May 26 produced hail. The city appeared to receive minimal damage to the area. Pictured is a tree down on Creason Road. Photo/George Lowe
