Billy J. Blaylock, 88, of Corning, passed away July 23, 2022 at Corning Therapy and Living Center.

Bill was born in Datto on February 9, 1934. After serving in the US Army, Bill returned to Corning to work in several local businesses. Bill retired as parts manager for Red Taylor Ford. He loved tinkering in his shop and spending time with family and friends, which included his church family at Grace Missionary Baptist Church where he was a long-time member.

Bill married his wife, Patsy (Lucy) Blaylock on March 7, 1964. She preceded him in death in 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Ellen (Smith) Blaylock and his sister Peggy (Blaylock) Patterson.

Survivors include his brother-in-law Charles (Betty) Patterson of Corning; sister-in-law Jayne (Larry) Scheer of Fort Smith; niece Debbie Adams; nephews Ron and Steve Patterson, Britt and Blake Scheer; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Rev. Steve Patterson officiating. Burial will be at Corning Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Grace Missionary Baptist Church, c/o Mrs. Janet Allen, 603 W 3rd St., Corning, AR 72422.
