Thanksgiving has always been more than a meal for my family-it’s a weekend of memories steeped in tradition. For years, we would pile into the car and make the trip to Missouri to spend Thanksgiving at my grandparents’ house.
LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Department of Education’s Office of Early Childhood is excited to launch the new School Readiness Assistance system. This updated system replaces the KidCare system, which helped eligible families access federal childcare assistance for more than 17 years.
The Corning School Board met on November 18, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. with four members present.

Oh how I remember those old Thanksgivings back on that little farm nine miles east of Corning! In particular, I remember the one in 1956, my last year at home. Back then, all the relatives came for Thanksgiving dinner.
On October 21st, the Clay County 4-H Youth Leadership Citizenship Team participants from Corning, Piggott and Rector High Schools toured the State Capitol in Little Rock joined by Arkansas State Representative Jeremy Wooldridge. Then, at the 4-H Center in Ferndale, they attended a Real Colors personality session to understand themselves and others with Carrie Stark while discussing their service-learning project with Clay County Extension agent Christin Holmes.
