On Dec. 20, 2024, the Corning Police Department received a generous donation of two cases of Naloxone Nasal Spray, commonly known as NARCAN, from Moving the Mountain, a faith-based substance abuse prevention program.

POWHATAN, Ark. Lake Charles State Park will be opening an archery range Dec. 16 through March 10 at the park, 3705 Highway 25, Powhatan. The range is free and open to the public 8 a.m.-5p.m. on weekdays and 1p.m.5p.m. on weekends. Participants will need to go to the Visitor Information Center to reserve the range and sign an agreement to abide by the rules and regulations of the range.

The Corning Junior Boys secured a big conference victory on Tuesday, Dec. 17, defeating the Cougars 49-39 to remain unbeaten. The win improves the team’s record to 7-2 overall and 4-0 in conference action.
