We are dealing with frigid temperatures here in NEA, and while it can be uncomfortable and a pain to endure, we are fortunate.
The Jr. High Lady Bobcats picked up another big conference win on the road Jan. 15, defeating Marmaduke to improve to 10-5 overall and 7-2 in conference play. The team continues to hit its stride as the season progresses.
The Jr. Bobcat basketball team continued their strong season with a convincing 43-23 road victory over Bay on Tuesday night, improving their record to 10-4 overall and 7-1 in conference play. The win featured balanced scoring across the roster.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will open the application window for 2025 Wildlife Management Area Turkey Hunt Permits Jan. 15-Feb. 15. These permits are required to hunt on a few WMAs that present some of the best public hunting available in the state.

The timing could not have been better for the good news Arkansas just received. A $17 million federal grant to improve maternal health care was formally announced a few days before the beginning of the 2025 legislative session.
January is Cervical Health Awareness Month. The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) BreastCare program coordinates efforts with a statewide network of providers offering no-cost cervical and breast cancer screenings and follow-up services.
