The timing could not have been better for the good news Arkansas just received. A $17 million federal grant to improve maternal health care was formally announced a few days before the beginning of the 2025 legislative session.

It’s Polar Plunge season!

The Northeast Arkansas community is gearing up for the 2025 Polar Plunge, a unique fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Arkansas. This annual event, organized by the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, invites individuals and teams to take an icy plunge to raise money and awareness for athletes with intellectual disabilities.

BRTC to support to employees after local business closure

Black River Technical College (BRTC) is extending support to Tenneco employees after the business announced it will be closing its doors in March. BRTC recognizes the impact the closure will have on the local workforce and economy and is working with Paragould Chamber of Commerce and other state agencies to address the needs of displaced workers. Together these organizations are proactively providing resources and support to help affected employees transition to new opportunities.
