Spring weather, whoa! If you’ve been anywhere in NE Arkansas lately, you know exactly what I mean. Tornadoes, hail and flooding—oh my. It’s felt like Mother Nature has been in full tantrum mode, and frankly, I’m over it.
On April 7, at approximately 7:00 p.m., deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department conducted an investigation related to suspected drug activity at a residence located at 834 Ferguson Road in Corning.

There will be a city wide clean up April 24-26 for Corning residents only. Residents will need to haul accepted items to the collection site located in the old Wal Mart parking lot from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Accepted items include non-food household waste, furniture, large appliances, electronics and small appliances. Items that will not be accepted are tires, batteries and large volumes of construction materials.
The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) is reporting a confirmed pediatric measles case in an unvaccinated Arkansas resident from Saline County. The individual who tested positive was exposed during out of state travel. As of April 10, this is the only measles case in Arkansas since 2018.
Grace Missionary Baptist Church will have an Easter party for kids ages 5-12 with games, songs, crafts, snacks and a Bible lesson. It will start at 3:30 p.m. and end at 4:45 p.m. There will be a Resurrection Day service at 11:00 a.m. on April 20.
