Transportation is more than just a matter of convenience — it’s about safety, infrastructure, and supporting the flow of commerce that powers Arkansas’s economy. During the 2025 Regular Session, the House of Representatives passed a series of laws aimed at keeping our roads safe, improving communication between drivers and law enforcement, and ensuring our infrastructure is secure.

Bobcat Football to hold benefit golf tournament

The Corning Bobcat Football team will hold the Grip It 7 rip it Benefit Golf Tournament on July 19. This is a 4-man scramble. The will be a 50/50 raffle, paid flights and a $100 hope sponsor. The cost will be $350 if sponsoring a team and hole. The tournament will be held at the Victory Lake Golf Course with registration starting at 7 a.m. and a shotgut start at 8 a.m. For more information contact Trevor Barajas at 870-323-0580 or Farrell Shelton at 636-575-7390.

Clay County 4-H Youth Leadership Citizenship Team finishes year

The Clay County 4-H Youth Leadership Citizenship Team has been busy as they finished up at the end of their school year. The team met at Clay County Electric in Corning for their March monthly meeting where their workshop focused on cover letters, resume building, thank you letters and interviewing skills by Alicya Danielle Watson, M.S., Program Associate Community, Workforce & Economic Development- U of A Division of Agriculture Research & Extension CEA.

Alumni basketball games were a success

The 2025 Bobcat Alumni basketball games were a slam dunk, celebrating the school’s rich basketball legacy. Held at Bobcat Gymnasium, the event brought together former Bobcat players from both the men’s and women’s programs for an afternoon of high-energy matchups, nostalgia and community pride.
