State Capitol Week in Review

The state Department of Human Services has contracted with experts at the University of Arkansas to update the current health care system, in order to fill the gaps in coverage for people who face the gravest health risks.

Francis announced as a May 2025 UCA graduate

The University of Central Arkansas held fall commencement on Thursday, May 1, and Friday, May 2, 2025, in the Farris Center on campus. Degrees and certificates were conferred from the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; College of Business; College of Education; College of Health and Behavioral Sciences; College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics; and Graduate School.

Corning Police arrest local teen in assault investigation

On June 2, officers with the Corning Police Department responded to a call at a residence on West Main Street regarding a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers, along with a deputy from the Clay County Sheriff’s Department, made contact with the suspect, who appeared to be intoxicated.
