CMS students promote literacy at Park Elementary
Several Corning Middle School students were guest readers for each Park Elementary classroom on Tuesday, Dec. 12. Students enjoyed reading, and participating in peer instruction activities, and sharing goodies with elementary students.
Clay Co. officers participate in USDSA training
Officers from the Corning Police Department, Piggott Police Department, Clay County Sheriff’s Department, Rector Police Department, and Piggott School District participated in an Active Shooter Response / Tactical Entry Training by the United States Deputy Sheriff’s Association (USDSA) hosted by the Piggott Police Department.
Kindergarten students sing about Christmas
“How the Penguins Saved Christmas” by Teresa Jennings was presented in two performances to the public Tuesday, December 17 at Park Elementary School. Youngsters sang many songs related to penguins and Christmas.
Bobcats defeat Harrisburg; 62-41
The Corning Bobcats won two out of three games against Harrisburg on Friday, Dec. 8. The Sr. Boys beat the Hornets by a score of 62-41. Jayce Couch scored #21 17 points for the Cats, Luke Blanchard #4 scored 13. Seth Green # 14 and Jakob Cox #10 each scored 7 points, Roman Davis #13 made 6 points, Haydon Cox #33 shot 4 points, Spencer Blanchard #15 - 3 points, Reid McMasters #40 and Peyton Cartwright #35 each scored 2 points and Dash Ellis #32 added a point.
