During the summer months our Blackstone griddle gets a workout. The thought of dirtying my kitchen does not appeal to me. And when my husband offers to cook dinner, then who am I to protest. What began as an impulse purchase a few years ago has turned into a weekly staple in our home, transforming breakfast, lunch and dinner into summer feasts.
On June 29, at approximately 5:45 p.m., a Clay County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a green Dodge Charger traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 135 east of Corning. The driver refused to stop and fled the area, initiating a multi-jurisdictional pursuit.

A Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop shortly after midnight on Thursday, June 26, that led to the arrest of a Piggott man on drug charges.
On June 27, at approximately 9:20 p.m., a Rector Police Department officer contacted the Clay County Sheriff’s Office regarding a subject with an active felony warrant for absconding from parole supervision.
4-H O-Rama provides 4-H members with the opportunity to compare the skills they have gained with those of other members and with their own previous performances. 4-H club members from Corning, Piggott and Rector competed. Corning School District officials plan to roll out the “Bell to Bell, No Cell” policy this fall, reminding families that personal electronic devices will be off-limits during the instructional day.
