Lady Bobcats receive Award of Excellence
The Corning Lady Bobcats Basketball team received the Award of Excellence bestowed on teams that exhibit exemplary conduct, which includes sportsmanship, ethics and integrity during a season. The award was presented to Corning High School for an ejection-free season of Girls Basketball 2023-2024.
Jr. Bobcats face off against Rivercrest; 7-7
The Corning Jr. Bobcats squared off with the Rivercrest Colts on Tuesday, March 26 at home. The Colts made the first score on the board in the 1st inning. Corning also scored at their first at bat in the bottom of the 1st inning.
Bobcats fall to Rivercrest; 5-1
The Bobcats lost to the Rivercrest Colts in a makeup game on Tuesday, March 26 at home. The game scheduled for Monday was pushed to the next day due to weather.
Songer selected to MBCA Hall of Fame
It’s exceptional when a small town high school has the fine caliber of coaching available to it’s players that Coach Jerry Songer provides to the Lady Bobcats Basketball Team. The coach has acquired an impeccable record of achievements while coaching basketball in Missouri that has carried over to Corning.
Healthy Eating on a Budget
National Nutrition Month is an annual campaign established in 1973 by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. During the month of March, everyone is invited to learn about making informed food choices and developing healthful eating and physical activity habits.

Despite strong offense, Lady Bobcats stung by Hornets; 14-11
The bats were hot in Harrisburg on Thursday, March 14 as the Lady Cats faced the Hornets. Corning out hit Harrisburg 12 to 9, but they couldn’t quite get the win against the Lady Hornets. Kylie Zimmer and Presley Martin each collected 3 hits for the Lady Cats.
Women’s History Month is Special
Women’s History Month is special to me. My mom, a lifelong educator, helped shape me. My beautiful wife, an Air Force veteran and emergency medicine physician, is more than I prayed for. My three phenomenal girls are the joy of my life. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, let’s honor the history of Arkansas women.
