The Corning Police Department was recently the recipient of 10 Combat Application Tourniquets (C-A-T) and 10 CAT tourniquet holsters donated by the United States Deputy Sheriff’s Association. Police Chief Blaine McClung stated, “This vital equipment will be very usefully to our officers and the safety of the citizens of Corning.” Tests by the U.S. Army’s Institute of Surgical Research have proved that the C-A-T completely occluded blood flow of an extremity in the event of a traumatic wound with significant hemorrhage. Pictured with C-A-T tourniquets are officers, Joey Bradish, Micayla McClung, Jamie Floyd, Terry Ladd, Wes Harmon, David Leach.
