Jerry Sollis, owner of Sollis Grain/S & L Irrigation, spoke up during the public meeting and addressed the generational losses of industry in Corning that people tend to dwell on in its past. He named many current employers that support the town and pointed out a major issue in bringing in new businesses to the city. “Corning has to vie with the same cities like Conway, Little Rock, Jonesboro, Paragould, and bigger cities, in order to try to attract businesses,” he said. “That’s a problem.
