Mabel Evalou (Gaines) Davidson

Mabel Evalou (Gaines) Davidson, 95, of Knobel, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022 at Corning Therapy and Living Center.
Mrs. Davidson was born March 6, 1927 in Lawrence County, Indiana. She married W. G. Davidson December 24, 1947. During her lifetime she was employed at the Clay County Courthouse and Carter Carburetor. She was a partner in the family farming operation from the time she was married until her husband’s passing on February 8, 1997. She enjoyed many things during her lifetime including reading, sewing, gardening and canning, and spending time with her family. Mabel was a member of The Church of Christ in Corning.
Survivors include son Bobby and Dena Dodd of Corning; grandchildren Kerry (Todd) VanPelt, Manchester, TN, Logan (Trent) Mc-Daniel, Cadiz, KY, Ronda (Wayne) Scrimsher, Imperial, MO, James (Rachadaporn) Noblin, Grand Forks, ND, Kimberly (Scott) Helton, Greenville, SC; great-grandchildren Micah & Annabelle McDaniel, Serenity & Asa Scrimsher, Henry Helton, Tristan Noblin and Emily Morales; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Janie Davidson, Judy and husband Ron Noblin, Wanda Hammers; parents Jessie and Sylvia (Fountain) Gaines; sisters Ethel Wampler and husband Emmett, Edith Miller and husband Luke, Ada Handley, Elda Carter; and brothers Paul Gaines and wife Grace, Jesse Eugene Gaines.
Visitation will be Saturday September 17, 2022 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Wayne Scrimsher officiating. Burial will be in Bond Cemetery in Knobel.
Pallbearers will be Scott Helton, Doin Bowers Jr., Trey Bowers, Cody Taylor, Chuck Taylor, Mark Williams, honorary pallbearer Larry Catt.
