Cona Faye Ashby Ricker, 80, of Knobel passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the home of her son.

Cona was born in Knobel on July 29, 1941 to the late Pete Ashby and Margie Hart. She was married to Nick Marsh Ricker on May 20, 1960. She was a member of the Peach Orchard and Knobel Churches of Christ. Cona also wrote the community news for the Clay County Courier for years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Margie Hart Ashby; husband, Nick Marsh Ricker; brothers, Leonard Ashby, Lee Edward Ashby, Stanton Ashby, Melvin Ashby, and J.T. Ashby; sisters, Imogene Cable, and Caroline Melton

Cona is survived by her children, Cynthia Faye (Frank) Bowden of Burgaw, N.C., Ben (Tab) Ricker of Knobel, Greg (Sherry) Ricker of Paragould, and Scott (Kim) Ricker of Corning; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sibling Florence Davidson of Austin, TX; sisters-in-law, Sue Gazaway, Janice Ball, Oleda Ashby, and Flossie Ashby.

All services will be held in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, June 10, 2022 from 5-7 PM. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 2 PM with Joshua Dement and Tim Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Pirtle Cemetery in Peach Orchard.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jacob Cagle, Nolan Cagle, J.B. Taylor, Ronnie French, Stanley Ashby, and Dalton Ricker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Catt, Rodney Schimming, Rick Taylor, Stanley Rainwater, Lloyd Farmer, Jim Mangum, and John Mangum.
