Traffic stop leads to methamphetamine arrest in Pollard

A routine traffic stop in the early morning hours of May 25 led to the arrest of a Pollard woman on drug-related charges. At approximately 1:30 a.m., a Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 62 out of Pollard when a vehicle with an illegible license plate passed the patrol unit. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on County Road 463. The vehicle continued for several hundred yards before coming to a stop.

Corning Chamber hears update on 4th of July celebrations from Growing Corning Together

The June Corning Area Chamber of Commerce meeting was called to order by Pres. Rhonda Sollis at Gigi’s Restaurant on June 12. An invocational prayer was offered by Terry Gleghorn following which President Sollis introduced Colton Ladyman, President of Growing Corning Together to give an update on the 4th of July celebration they have planned in absence of the event hosted by the Chamber.
