The Corning Public Library held the summer reading 2025 Art Wars at the library recently. There were two teams which consisted in Team Red and Team Blue. Team Red was lead by Mrs. Renee and Team Blue was lead by Mrs. Sarah. Team Blue earned the win but in this competition everyone was a winner.
Students on the Chancellor’s and Dean’s Lists for the spring 2025 semester at Arkansas State University have been announced. The lists recognize undergraduate students who achieved the highest gradepoint averages while completing a minimum of 12 credit hours of study.
The office of Central Methodist University Provost Rita Gulstad announced recently the students included on the Spring 2025 Dean’s List.
Corning resident Kaitlin Elizabeth Francis, a senior Healthcare Administration major, has been named to the President’s List at Southern Arkansas University. Francis was one of 458 students who earned a 4.0 GPA for the spring 2025 semester.
The University of Central Arkansas congratulates more than 1,200 students who were named as Presidential Scholars.
Luke Blanchard, of Corning, AR, was named to the spring 2025 Dean’s List at the University of Central Arkansas.
Parade Chairman D.J. Herzog has chosen J.H. Ermert as Grand Marshal of Growing Corning Together’s July 4th Parade. He was chosen last year to hold this title, but due to an illness he was unable to attend the event. The Corning Bobcat Football team will hold the Grip It & Rip It Benefit Golf Tournament on July 19. This is a 4-man scramble. There will be a 50/50 raffle, paid flights and a $100 hole sponsor. The cost will be $350 if sponsoring a team and hole.
