We are less than a week away from the 2025 Corning High School Graduation and I want to take this time to say a few words to our graduating seniors, their families and our community. As we educators prepare for graduation, we reflect on the previous years with fondness and hope that we have equipped our seniors for life after high school. We hope we have done enough; that they are ready to step into this new world and thrive.

Rambling Vines

This is Arkansas Tourism Week, May 3-9, which reminds me of the one and only vacation that our family ever took. We never had the money for such things and most of the time didn’t have a car that was capable of making much of a trip. But, even if we had been able to afford a trip every year and had owned the finest vehicle made, one trip would have still been enough for our folks. We nearly drove them out of their minds, and we only went up to Southern Illinois… a trip that can be made between suns in today’s high-speed automobiles.

RITA MCCLINTOCK

Rita McClintock, 76, of Corning, passed away on April 28, 2025, at Corning Therapy and Living Center in Corning. Survivors include her sisters Marie Frith, Ann Matheny, Karen Soloman, and Sandy Park; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon McClintock; son Larry Wayne Lamborn; parents Hewett and Elsie Park; and sister Stella Hager.
