The legislature officially adjourned the 2025 regular session on May 5, and is not scheduled to convene again until the 2026 fiscal session.
With Mother’s Day just around the corner, we are reminded of the vital role mothers play in the strength and well-being of our families and communities. This legislative session, the General Assembly made maternal health a top priority, passing a series of bills aimed at ensuring that every mother in our state has access to the care and support she needs before, during, and after pregnancy.
The current fiscal year for agricultural trade recently reached its midway point and the latest Ag Trade Outlook report shows there was a rise in U.S. exports in March.
Hunters interested in pursuing Arkansas’s largest big game animal can apply for a limited hunting permit draw from 8 a.m. May 1 through 11:59 p.m. June 1. Applications will be available at the AGFC’s licensing site (www.agfc.com/license) under the “Special Hunt Applications” tab.

To the wonderful parents and students of Corning Schools, As the 2024-2025 school year draws to a close, I find myself filled with immense pride and gratitude. It has been a year of growth, achievement, and shared experiences that have strengthened our entire school community. From the enthusiastic welcome we gave our youngest learners to the inspiring accomplishments of our graduating seniors, each day has been a testament to the dedication of our students, the unwavering support of our parents, and the tireless efforts of our faculty and staff.
Safety Day classes led by Nicole Babcock ended on a high note at Park Elementary. The group has the knowledge and confidence to step in and help when it matters most. The session ended with the group learning CPR training.
