On April 7, at approximately 7:00 p.m., deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department conducted an investigation related to suspected drug activity at a residence located at 834 Ferguson Road in Corning.
At approximately 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, a Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a call regarding an unwanted individual at a residence located at 1324 County Road 461, west of Piggott.
At approximately 2:05 p.m. on April 6, the Corning Police Department notified the Clay County Sheriff’s Department about a report of a bluish-gray Chevrolet Tahoe driving erratically on Highway 135. The vehicle, which had Texas license plates, was reportedly swerving across lanes and heading northbound.

The Arkansas Public Service Commission (APSC) announces that April has been designated as “National Safe Digging Month.” Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued a proclamation on April 1, recognizing April as National Safe Digging Month in Arkansas. This designation acknowledges the significance of calling 811 before you dig. Along with the Governor, the APSC’s Pipeline Safety Office, the Arkansas Attorney General, the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission, Arkansas 811 and the Common Ground Alliance encourage excavators and homeowners to always call 811 before digging to prevent unintended consequences such as service interruption, environmental damage, personal injury and even death. Grace Missionary Baptist Church will have an Easter party for kids ages 5-12 with games, songs, crafts, snacks and a Bible lesson. It will start at 3:30 p.m. and end at 4:45 p.m. There will be a Resurrection Day service at 11:00 a.m. on April 20.
The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) is reporting a confirmed pediatric measles case in an unvaccinated Arkansas resident from Saline County. The individual who tested positive was exposed during out of state travel. As of April 10, this is the only measles case in Arkansas since 2018.
