Entries sought for Clay County Fair Parade
The annual Clay County Fair Parade will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. in Piggott. The public is invited to submit procession entries and to observe the parade which will begin at the First Baptist Church, located a block west of the square on West Main Street, and will end at the Eastern District Courthouse in Piggott. October 18, 2012 The laborers were many, and so were by-standers during rice harvesting and shocking this week north of Corning alongside Highway 67. Preparing rice for threshing during Harvest Festival October 27 at Wynn Park, workers follow equipment operated by Louis Ahrent and David Bauschlicher to erect shocks to be dried by sunlight over the next two weeks.

School Board holds August meeting
The Corning School Board met on August 19, 2024, in the board room with all members present. The board approved the minutes from last month’s meeting and the financial report as presented.

School Notes
Week one of the 202425 school year is off to a great start. Our smooth beginning is in part to the Back to School Bash we held on August 8.
