July 26, 1990 Bobby Sollis is seated behind the “counter” but Jami Miramontes lends a helping hand in pouring a cup of cool aid for a customer. The boys, in partnership with Tony and Nick Hudson, set up the stand at one of the city’s busiest intersections Wednesday morning (at Gregory and Highway 67).
The crusade to influence others in our society has become a major ambition and for some a full-time job. As people seek attention and relevance, monetary gain and to harvest power, it has never been more important for the average consumer and voter to be vigilant of the power of influence.
Clay County Quorum Court met on Monday, July 15 at the courthouse in Piggott with Justices Dennis Haines, Patrick Patterson, David Hatcher, George Lowe, Neal Smith, Randy Kingston, Brad Green and David Cagle in attendance and Justice Jody Henderson absent.
Clear skies and good crowds were the order of the day Saturday, July 13, as the 91st annual Pollard Picnic was held. Each year the event is held at the picnic grounds in Pollard, with the proceeds benefiting the continued up keep of the New Hope Cemetery.
